Five

Ho 34 anni.
Non posso nascondere di avere avuto dell’agitazione nel pensare al progetto.

Il tema del corpo e di come viene rappresentato è una cosa che sento molto vicino.

Una volta ho assistito ad un servizio fotografico: c’era una modella bellissima con un corpo statuario perfetto e mi sono resa conto che poi in post produzione avevano ulteriormente ridotto di dimensioni i fianchi e gambe, perché la modella indossava un costume e dicevano che le linee dovevano essere esasperate. E allora mi sono chiesta cosa potesse pensare una ragazzina adolescente che vede questa immagine esposta su un cartellone pubblicitario enorme.

Questa cosa l’ho provata anche io nell’età dello sviluppo, quando ti crescono le forme e non puoi controllare la mutazione del tuo corpo e intanto la società e i media ti propongono e impongono immagini di corpi surreali.

Crescendo per fortuna ho capito che esistono e mi piacciono anche cose diverse, e allora viva la differenza!

I can’t hide that I felt agitated in thinking at the project.

The theme of the body and how it is represented is an issue that I feel very close.

I remember a photo shooting a few years ago where there was a beautiful model with a perfect body and then I realized that they made her even slimmer by cutting off slices of hips and legs in post production because she was wearing a swimsuit and the lines had to be exasperated.

And then I wondered what a teenage girl could think of looking at picture like that displayed on a huge billboard.

I felt the same way when I was in my teenage years and body shapes begin to grow without the possibility of controlling this mutation, and at the same time the mass media and the society used to propose and impose absurd images of unreal bodies, as they still do nowadays.

Growing up, I realized that luckily there are also things and forms, which I like.

Long live difference!
